Directory Backlinks Building (Off site SEO)

What is off-site SEO?

“Off-site SEO” (also called “off-page SEO”) refers to actions taken outside of your own website to impact your rankings within search engine results pages (SERPs).

Optimising for off-site ranking factors involves improving search engine and user perception of a site’s popularity, relevance, trustworthiness, and authority. This is accomplished by other reputable places on the Internet (pages, sites, people, etc.) linking to or promoting your website, and effectively “vouching” for the quality of your content, these links are called backlinks.

Why does off-site SEO matter?

While search algorithms and ranking factors are constantly changing, the general consensus within the SEO community is that the relevance, trustworthiness, and authority that effective off-site SEO affords a website still play a major role in a page’s ability to rank.

While we don’t know the full algorithm Google uses to rank content, data from our Search Engine Ranking Factors study show that off-site SEO-related factors likely carry more than 50% of the ranking factor weight.

What are Backlinks?

Backlinks, also called “inbound links” or “incoming links,” are created when one website links to another. The link to an external website is called a backlink.

Why are backlinks important?

Backlinks are especially valuable for SEO because they represent a “vote of confidence” from one site to another.

In essence, backlinks to your website are a signal to search engines that others vouch for your content. If many sites link to the same webpage or website, search engines can infer that content is worth linking to, and therefore also worth surfacing on a SERP. So, earning these backlinks can have a positive effect on a site’s ranking position or search visibility.

Earning and giving backlinks

Earning backlinks is an essential component of off-site SEO. The process of obtaining these links is known as link earning or link building.

Some backlinks are inherently more valuable than others. Followed backlinks from trustworthy, popular, high-authority sites are considered the most desirable backlinks to earn, while backlinks from low-authority, potentially spammy sites are typically at the other end of the spectrum. Whether or not a link is followed (i.e. whether a site owner specifically instructs search engines to pass, or not pass, link equity) is certainly relevant, but don’t entirely discount the value of nofollow links. Even just being mentioned on high-quality websites can give your brand a boost.

Just as some backlinks you earn are more valuable than others, links you create to other sites also differ in value. When linking out to an external site, the choices you make regarding the page from which you link (its page authority, content, search engine accessibility, and so on) the anchor text you use, whether you choose to follow or nofollow the link, and any other meta tags associated with the linking page can have a heavy impact on the value you confer.

Frequently Asked Questions

Question – Who creates the content to be posted on the directories/forums?
We will create relevant, unique business content which is designed to be accepted as an informative and useful addition to the directory or forum. It is pointless trying to get poor quality documents accepted as these would not be a valuable addition to the directory or forum.
We are happy to let you create the content if you wish and we will also be happy to run our content by you before we post it, It is, after all, representing your business name.

Question – Which  directories are my business listings going to be added to?
Over the years we have built a list of hundreds of business directories and forums and have ranked each of these directories according to their trust with Google and other search engines. We will find out where your business is currently listed and list your business on the top directories you are not listed on.

Question – Do you add all business listings at once?
No, we will create the links over a 30 day period, If the links were created all at the same time the search engines would detect it as un natural and may actually lower your rankings.

Question – Will all  listings be live right away?
The majority will be live. Some directories take a week to approve the listing.

Question – Will you send me all my listings?
Yes, we send out a spreadsheet with links to all of your listings each month along with login details for each listing if required.
